Lucky Breaks by: Susan Patron

In the middle of no where, Hard Pan is a town where everyone knows everyone, everyone looks after everyone and everyone cares for everyone. This town is special. Lucky, Miles and Lincoln are best friends and call it their home. One day when a group of 'ologists' (as Miles calls them) visit, bringing a girl named Paloma. Lucky realizes that she should have a girl as a friend and quickly becomes friends with Paloma, pushing miles and Lincoln away. Lucky learns that you can't always have one friend to count on and you need more.

This book was hard to describe when writing the summary because it has so much meaning. Each chapter had a reflection of the chapter at the end and it always made you feel good or awkward. To understand this book though, you have to read the first book first which is called The Higher Power of Lucky. I would recommend this book to people who like exploring and adventures.

Pretty Tough by: Liz Ligelaar

They were once best friends, and sisters, but now they've turned away from each other. Ever since that day. They still have to live with the fact that they are stuck with each other. Living together in the same house can be hectic. NOW they have to face the biggest thing yet, playing on the same soccer team. Learning to cooperate will be hard, but will the sisters keep up and finally change their ways?

This book teaches you a lesson to never try and fight with your sibling because you will end up like these 2 girls. They practically hate each other and have only said bad things about each other. I liked this book because it taught you a lesson and made you think. I would recommend this book to every one. (but mostly girls)
